New Potential! Drive Head 02 Mk-III is Developed!! is the second webisode of Tomica Hyper Rescue: Drive Head. It was first streamed in Japan on February 16, 2018 on YouTube.
Summary[]
When asked for suggestions for the new Backdraft, Taiga reflects on his past experiences.
Plot[]
Kurumada shows the drivers his blueprints for the upcoming Mk-III version of Backdraft. He explains that although Cyclone Interceptor is currently the fastest Drive Head, the new Backdraft will be almost as fast. It will also have emergency aid equipment like White Crystal Hope. He asks Taiga what else he'd like.
Taiga remembers back to the rescues he performed at Mt. Kappa, and at the oil refinery plant. Afterwards, he requests that the new Backfraft have even stronger armor than Brave Backdraft does, as well as stronger equipment for fighting fires. Jin proposes the idea of giving Backdraft flight equipment. Gou says it should have a personal air-conditioner, since it gets hot near fires.
Later, while Gou is doing homework, Taiga finds that his takoyaki SyoriSyori is gone. He asks Gou about it. Mikoto tells Taiga that Gou ate all the SyoriSyori. Gou tries to deny this, but Taiga doesn't believe him. He says he'll replace it, but Taiga is annoyed because the takoyaki flavor was limited. Mikoto wants Gou to buy more for her too. To avoid the situation, Gou says that he has to take Axel to the vet and leaves.

- This is a recap episode, focusing on the events of The Red Guy's Burning Fusion!! and Flame Hero! Brave Backdraft!!. Even the new scenes are composed of stock footage, which the seiyuu re-dubbed over.
- Sasagawa is listed in the cast for this episode, although she does not have any lines. This may be because she narrated a commercial shown after the episode.
